WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Digital Guardian today announced that the Digital Guardian Data Protection Platform has been designated a Cyber Catalystâ„  cybersecurity solution following an independent evaluation by leading cyber insurers. A first of its kind, the Cyber Catalyst by Marshâ„  program was created by Marsh, with Microsoft serving as a technical advisor, for cyber insurers to identify cybersecurity solutions they consider effective in reducing cyber risk.

The Cyber Catalyst program convened eight leading cyber insurers – Allianz; AXIS; AXA XL, a division of AXA; Beazley; CFC; Munich Re; Sompo International; and Zurich North America – that individually assessed cybersecurity solutions along six key criteria:

Reduction of cyber risk: Demonstrated ability to address major enterprise cyber risk such as data breach, theft or corruption; business interruption; or cyber extortion. Key performance metrics: Demonstrated ability to quantitatively measure and report on factors that reduce the frequency or severity of cyber events. Viability: Client-use cases and successful implementation. Efficiency: Demonstrated ability of users to successfully implement and govern the use of the product to reduce cyber risk. Flexibility: Broad applicability to a range of companies/industries. Differentiation: Distinguishing features and characteristics.

More than 150 cybersecurity offerings, spanning a broad range of categories from hardware to messaging security to IoT security, were submitted for consideration. After insurers separately evaluated, deliberated, and voted on all submissions, the Digital Guardian Data Protection Platform was one of only 17 cybersecurity solutions and products to receive the Cyber Catalystâ„  designation.
